Home, but not home free!

Today Anabelle was released form the hospital! We are so excited to be home! We are even more excited to have a baby we dont have to keep "plugged in" to so many machines! Although we are home and Anabelle is doing much better, the week to come will bring more testing and Dr's appointments including another chest x-ray to see if the pneumonia has cleared some and a video flouoscope to look futher into the reason she aspirated in the first place. She is also on three medications that she does not love to take so we are hoping we find a good strategy for administering them all!
Below are some more pics of the baby jail we are thrilled to leave behind and

Anabelle

Tuesday night, Anabelle spiked a fever after a couple days of coughing and gaging so I brought her into the ER expecting we would be given some meds and sent home with a diagnosis of a cold. Oh how wrong I was. Anabelle was given a battery of tests including a blood draw, (Sarah, I feel you on these) a chest x-ray, and a urinealysis. These all pointed to pheumonia most likely resulting from her aspirating during a feeding or from spitting up. We were admitted to the hospital and have been there since. Anabelle is having a hard time keeping her O2 up so she is on oxygen and is hooked up to a bunch of monitors.

Today we repeated the chest x-ray and had a swollow study. The pheumonia has not improved at all with the antibiotics she is currently on so they are adding another type this afternoon. They are also going to change her formula to something even thcker than the Enfamil AR with hopes that this help reduce the spitting and thus reducing the possibility for further aspirations. We are praying that Anabelle can begin to have some success without the oxygen and that her fever stays away and that her lungs clear.

These pics are of the "baby jail" Anabelle is living in these days!

Spending time with mommy and daddy out of jail for feedings.

Please pray that the pneumonia disapears and that she will have no more aspirations while feeding.

Anabelle's Baptism

Sunday was a day of celebration as Brad and I presented Anabelle to be baptized. It is so special to know that God has placed his seal on her and claims her as one of his children. We look forward to seeing how he will use her in his kingdom as she grows.

Anabelle 2 Months

Here are the 2 month Stats from our Dr.'s appt last week: Height 23 1/4 in. (50-70%), weight 11lb, 4 oz (50%). She is on Enfamil AR to help with her vomiting which seems to be helping (although she did vomit on the nurse during her rotovirus vaccine!) We were also referred to physical therapy for work on the flat spot on her head. We had our first appt today and it went well! Below are two pics, one at two months and one at one month...she has definately filled out some!

Waiting for it...

Enjoying it!

It was lots of fun and tased SOOO good! Now we may be addicted, but we have GOT to find a low fat recipe because OH MY! We tried vanilla for our first attempt, but are excited to try other flavors...any ideas??

Divalicious

Our little jet-setter on the move
Rockin the shades

Both her own and any one else's she can get her hands on!!

A stylist in the making: Picking out Anabelle's clothes for the day. She has very definate views about what she and her sister should wear!

You'd think she's been chased by the paparazzi! (Or by a crazed mom with a camera who loves to blog!)
