Anabelle

Tuesday night, Anabelle spiked a fever after a couple days of coughing and gaging so I brought her into the ER expecting we would be given some meds and sent home with a diagnosis of a cold. Oh how wrong I was. Anabelle was given a battery of tests including a blood draw, (Sarah, I feel you on these) a chest x-ray, and a urinealysis. These all pointed to pheumonia most likely resulting from her aspirating during a feeding or from spitting up. We were admitted to the hospital and have been there since. Anabelle is having a hard time keeping her O2 up so she is on oxygen and is hooked up to a bunch of monitors.

Today we repeated the chest x-ray and had a swollow study. The pheumonia has not improved at all with the antibiotics she is currently on so they are adding another type this afternoon. They are also going to change her formula to something even thcker than the Enfamil AR with hopes that this help reduce the spitting and thus reducing the possibility for further aspirations. We are praying that Anabelle can begin to have some success without the oxygen and that her fever stays away and that her lungs clear.

These pics are of the "baby jail" Anabelle is living in these days!

Spending time with mommy and daddy out of jail for feedings.

Please pray that the pneumonia disapears and that she will have no more aspirations while feeding.

You don't know us but we are praying for you guys and Anabelle. I feel for you because we were in the same situation when our daughter was 4 months old. We hope that everything gets better quickly and she will be able to return home soon (you as well!)

Praying that things are going better this afternoon- Anabelle looks so helpless hooked up to all those wires. We will keep all of you in our prayers. I am home all evening tonight and all day tomorrow if you need a break for Sabrina- please don't hesitate to call!
